Details
The Grump is a heartwarming and humorous film about a man stuck in his old ways who believes everything was better in the past. After taking a tumble down his basement steps and injuring his ankle, The Grump is forced to spend a weekend in Helsinki for physiotherapy. However, he is less than thrilled about this for several reasons.
Firstly, he must take a taxi, something The Grump despises because he believes modern transportation has ruined everything. Secondly, he can't take care of his wife, who suffers from Alzheimer's, on a daily basis, which greatly upsets him. Thirdly, he is unable to drive and fears having to be in a car with a female driver, as he distrusts women's ability to drive.
Lastly, and perhaps most dreaded of all, The Grump must spend time with his family. He has a strained relationship with his daughter and her family, and this weekend away forces them to confront their issues. As the story unfolds, The Grump learns some valuable lessons about life and love, and discovers that maybe the present isn't so bad after all.
This film is a heartwarming and humorous exploration of generational differences and the challenges of embracing change. With a talented cast and a touching story, The Grump is sure to entertain and delight audiences.
