In Planet of the Apes (1968), viewers are introduced to Taylor, one of three astronauts who wake up from deep hibernation to discover that their spaceship has crash-landed. Despite facing adversity and being treated as an inferior being, Taylor remains resilient and defiant, refusing to accept the apes' oppressive social order.
