Details
In Dogtooth (2009), a domineering father confines his adult children to the confines of their family estate, restricting them from the outside world. The siblings - two daughters and a son - are subjected to a twisted reality where they are shielded from the outside world and deprived of knowledge about the real world. The father enforces strict rules and fabricates false explanations about the surroundings, leading the siblings to believe in a distorted version of reality.
As the children grow older in this isolated environment, tensions arise and secrets are slowly unveiled. The dynamics within the family become increasingly complex as the siblings navigate their restricted lives and struggle to break free from their father's control. The film delves into themes of manipulation, power dynamics, and the consequences of isolation.
Dogtooth offers a disturbing and thought-provoking exploration of the impact of confinement and manipulation on individuals. The intricacies of the family's relationships and the challenges they face in asserting their independence create a compelling narrative that will leave viewers reflecting on the complexities of human behavior.
