In the action-packed film Behind Enemy Lines (2001), fighter navigator Chris Burnett is eager for more excitement in his career. Tired of monotonous reconnaissance missions, he embarks on a Christmas day mission over war-torn Bosnia. However, everything takes a dangerous turn when Burnett convinces his pilot, Stackhouse, to deviate from their route to investigate a mysterious target. Their aircraft is shot down, leaving Burnett stranded and on the run from a pursuing army.
Meanwhile, Burnett's commanding officer, Reigert, faces numerous obstacles and political interference that hinder his rescue efforts.
