Alexander's Lost World is a captivating documentary that explores the ancient civilization that predates Alexander the Great's conquests in Afghanistan. Contrary to popular belief, it is revealed that the Ancient Greeks actually discovered a highly developed civilization in the East, instead of bringing civilization themselves. The focus is on Alexandria on the Oxus, one of the most alluring cities built by Alexander.
David Adams, our intrepid explorer, embarks on a journey to unravel the mysteries of the Oxus Civilizations. Through stunning CGI, the great fortress cities of this lost world are vividly brought back to life. The documentary takes viewers on a thrilling adventure as Adams and his cameraman travel through remote regions of Afghanistan, completely unarmed.
What sets Alexander's Lost World apart is the unique perspective it offers. Adams and his team live as everyday Afghans, immersing themselves in the culture and gaining a deep understanding of the people and their shared heritage. This approach allows for a more authentic and intimate portrayal of the region and its history.
This documentary is a must-watch for history enthusiasts and those intrigued by ancient civilizations. It offers a fresh perspective on Alexander the Great's legacy and sheds light on a forgotten world that predates him. Prepare to be mesmerized by the stunning reconstructions of ancient cities and the captivating stories that lie within their ruins.
