To support their fake engagement, Margaret accompanies Andrew on a trip to his hometown of Sitka, Alaska for his grandmother's 90th birthday. As the family dynamics come into play, tensions arise between Andrew and his father, an ex-girlfriend resurfaces, and Andrew's initial dislike for Margaret starts to fade. At the same time, Margaret's secretive past threatens to expose their plan.
Things take a turn when a skeptical immigration agent arrives in Sitka to investigate their relationship. With the INS ready to charge Andrew with fraud, the couple must convincingly prove their love for each other. Through a series of comedic and heartwarming moments, Margaret and Andrew navigate their complicated relationship and confront their true feelings.
