Details
Down with Love is a delightful romantic comedy inspired by the sex comedies of the early 1960s that featured the iconic duo, Rock Hudson and Doris Day. Set in the swinging sixties, the film follows the story of Barbara Novak, a popular female advice author, who believes women can have it all without needing love or being dependent on men. However, her revolutionary book catches the attention of Catcher Block, a suave journalist playboy famous for his playboy exploits.
Catcher decides to challenge Barbara's beliefs by pretending to be a lovelorn astronaut, irresistible to women. As the two engage in a battle of the sexes, comedic hijinks, misunderstandings, and mistaken identities ensue. Barbara finds herself questioning her staunch stance on love, while Catcher starts to question his own seductive lifestyle.
With a stellar cast led by Renee Zellweger as the independent-minded Barbara and Ewan McGregor as the charismatic Catcher, Down with Love is a quirky and nostalgic homage to a bygone era. The film takes audiences on a hilarious and heartwarming journey as two opposites attract and grapple with their evolving feelings.
Filled with vibrant sets, retro fashions, and a memorable soundtrack, Down with Love captures the essence of the 1960s era with its whimsical charm. As love blossoms amidst the comedic chaos, audiences are sure to be entertained by this witty and clever romantic comedy.
