Melodifestivalen 2018 is the 58th edition of Sweden's music competition Melodifestivalen, which serves as the selection process for Sweden's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The competition consists of six semi-finals followed by a second chance round and a grand final. Each semi-final features seven contestants who perform their songs live on stage. The top two acts from each semi-final, as voted by a combination of public televoting and international jury votes, advance directly to the final, while the third and fourth-placed acts get another chance in the second chance round. In the second chance round, the eight remaining acts compete in duels, with the winners advancing to the final. The grand final features the 12 remaining acts, who perform their songs once again. The winner is determined by a mix of public televoting and international jury votes. The winning act will go on to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, which will be held in Portugal.
